Crisis Response and Recovery

We work where the world’s greatest needs and greatest challenges converge

Crown Agents work in some of the most hard-to-reach and volatile regions in the world and prioritise people most in need. We achieve results in emergency and protracted crisis contexts and have responded to almost every humanitarian crisis in recent years.

We have decades of experience supporting international and donor agencies, national and sub-national authorities and civil society in managing impactful humanitarian responses across the globe, including providing a humanitarian response capacity for the British Government for over 25 years. Our teams offer a completely integrated emergency response service that is reactive to the complexities and demands of volatile contexts. This service incorporates needs assessments, capacity building of national partners, humanitarian supply chain and fund and project management systems designed for countries in crisis.

Our work doesn’t stop after the disaster though. We remain engaged in countries after the immediate emergency ends and are committed to assisting with the recovery and restoration of pre-crisis patterns of life. Our approach focuses on strengthening resilience, rebuilding capacity, and working to address the long-standing challenges that contributed to crisis.

In these conflict-prone and politicised environments we also work with governments to build strong, accountable institutions to contribute as far as possible to the peace and state-building efforts. Using our networks around the world, we find the right resources at the right time, collaborating with partners to protect and promote the provision of legitimate political authority, from strengthening civil society in Libya to bolstering anti-terrorism measures in Iraq.
