Director, Crisis Response and Recovery

David Quinn is the Director of the Crisis Response and Recovery Unit with Crown Agents.  David has worked with the company for eight years, initially working with our logistics team embedded in DFID’s Conflict, Humanitarian and Stabilisation Department (CHASE) before moving to Crown Agents Head Office in 2017.  As a senior member of the CHASE Operations Team, David has been at the forefront of every major UK led humanitarian response in recent years, deploying to the field to support sudden humanitarian responses in the Syria, the Philippines and Libya before taking on a management role to lead operations focused on Ebola in West Africa, the Nepal Earthquake, the European Migration Crisis and the response to Hurricanes Irma and Maria in the Caribbean.  David has coordinated the deployment of logistics teams, the movement of thousands of tonnes of relief items and been responsible for programme budgets in the tens of millions.  More recently, David has developed and delivered Crown Agents programmes in Syria and is team leader for an FCDO programme supporting the British Overseas Territories Covid 19 response, managing a multi-functional team of 34 to meet the urgent needs of the territories.

Added to his practical experience David’s brings with him a 1st class MA in International Peace and Development as well as qualifications in Procurement and Supply, Medical Logistics and Humanitarian Logistics.
