Government of Japan and Crown Agents help strengthen Armenian medical sector to fight COVID-19 /

Since 1987, Crown Agents Japan is the nominated procurement agent for the Japanese Government, procuring any products or services necessary for the Government’s flagship aid programmes.

As part of this arrangement, Crown Agents procured 39 ambulances under grant value of 400 million Japanese yen to strengthen the capabilities of the medical sector of Armenia in response to COVID-19.

Ambassador Fukushima is greeting with Prime Minister Pashinyan

On 22 November 2022, the ambulances were handed over to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia by the Government of Japan, in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Armenia, H.E Mr. Nikol Pashinyan; the Minister of Health of Armenia, H.E. Mrs. Anahit Avanesyan; the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Mr. Gevorg Simonyan; and the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia, H.E. Mr. Fukushima Masanori.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Health of Armenia, H.E. Mrs. Avanesyan and the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Mr. Simonyan, thanked the Japanese Government for providing the ambulances to Armenia.

The Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. Fukushima, emphasized his hope that these ambulances will significantly contribute to upgrading the level of medical service and rapid response in the country.
