Supporting enhancement of fishery surveillance capacity in Indonesia /

Delivered patrol vessel

In FY2019, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has received a grant of 2.2 billion Japanese yen from the Government of Japan under the Project for Development of Outer Island and the Enhancement of Fishery Surveillance Capacity to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to finance the provision of rehabilitation work of patrol vessels and consultancy services to the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.

Crown Agents was appointed by the Government of Japan to be a procurement agent on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Handover ceremony

On 3rd October 2023, a handing over ceremony for rehabilitation of two vessels was held in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia Mr KANASUGI Kenji.

The overall aim of the grant is to contribute to enhancement of fishery surveillance capacity by rehabilitating the patrol vessels granted from Japanese Government to the Republic of Indonesia.  The procured services will support development of outer islands of Indonesia.
