Supporting Sri Lanka’s counter terrorism activities under Japanese Grant Aid /

On the 3 February 2022, the handing over ceremony for Security Equipment procured under the Japanese Grant Aid for the Economic and Social Development Programme was held at the President Secretariat Office, Sri Lanka.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe; State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke; and H.E. Mr. MIZUKOSHI Hideaki, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka.

As a procurement agent to the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Crown Agents Japan procures equipment for counter terrorism activities.

Items procured and handed over at the ceremony:

  • Walkthrough inspection gate: 9 units
  • Vehicle under chassis scanner: 5 units
