Supporting Rwanda’s improvement of border control and public safety /

In FY2016, the Government of the Republic of Rwanda has received a grant of 270 million Japanese yen from the Government of Japan under the Japanese Grant Aid for the Economic and Social Development Programme to finance the provision of cybersecurity equipment to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau.

Crown Agents was appointed by the Government of Japan to be a procurement agent on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Rwanda.

On 6 October 2023, a handing over ceremony for procured equipment was held in the city of Kigali, Rwanda.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice, Dr. Ugirashebuja Emmanuel, and Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda, Mr FUKUSHIMA Isao.

The overall aim of the grant is to contribute to the improvement of border control and public safety in Rwanda by providing cybercrime investigation equipment.
