Crown Agents has worked in Côte d’Ivoire since June 2010, providing procurement and oversight services in the execution of the Japanese governments programmes for environmental and climate change. We have worked closely with the government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire: the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Water and Forests and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Developments.
The projects focus on capacity building and cover everything from the exchange of notes to the delivery of goods and training. Crown Agents has been on the ground monitoring, assisting, and ensuring that the projects are effective and meet the expectations of all stakeholders and beneficiaries.
We have also worked as a procurement agent on the implementation of Japanese Non-Project Grant Aid in Côte d’Ivoire since 2012 . Under this grant, the government of Cote d’Ivoire grants loans to Ivoirian firms to buy material. These firms then reimburse the government which uses the money to fund development projects in areas such as education and infrastructure. Crown Agents will soon be working on similar projects in other West Africa French-speaking countries.
Since June 2013, we have been strengthening our representation in Cote d’Ivoire, building relationships with donors and government officials so as to be in a position to offer our full range of services and expertise in the region.
