Crown Agents has a long-standing relationship with the banking
sector in Ethiopia. From 2014-2019, we were privileged to support the
National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) and the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia
(CBE) under a long-term framework agreement, through which we
trained more than a thousand bank staff from private and public
banks across the country.

OUR TRAINING COVERED A WIDE RANGE OF TECHNICAL AND MANAGERIAL TOPICS, INCLUDING:
• Bank lending, deposit and payment products
• Mobile Money and FinTech
• SME banking
• Asset-Liability Management
• Interest-Free (Islamic) Banking

Alongside our training of staff within Ethiopia, we have hosted many
programmes internationally for Boards and Executive Team Members
from several leading banks. We specialise in working with these most
senior teams within banks to build capacity in areas including
Leadership and Corporate Governance, Strategy, Risk Management and
ESG.

Over the last few years, we have developed bespoke programmes for
the Boards and ETs of banks including:

• Zemen • Berha

In May 2023 we ran a programme focused on Strategic Leadership and
Cultural Transformation in Dubai for Amhara Bank, a relatively new
start-up bank. The senior team of ten, including several regional vice
presidents, spent the week engaging with topics including leading
with emotional intelligence, cultural transformation and building high
performing teams.

With new banking programmes launched in 2014, including our new
Capital Markets for Banks course, we look forward to continuing our
collaboration with the Ethiopian banking sector.
