  1. Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) (the Employer) has received a loan from the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest) towards the cost of the Construction of a Waste to Energy Facility (WTE) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for these Works.
  2. BPI intends to initially select Applicants for Contract No. WtE 001Wks for the Construction of a Waste to Energy Plant to be executed on EPC/Turnkey basis for which the Works are intended: The WTE is for the treatment of ca. 800 cubic metres – 4,500 cubic metres of waste per month where such waste comes from cruise ships and port with an indicative completion period of 18 months including commissioning. It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be made in the first quarter of 2024.
  3. Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures consistent with the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Applicants from IDB member countries (the list of member countries can be found: IDB | How we are organized (iadb.org)).
  4. On behalf of BPI, Crown Agents (CA) now invites eligible Applicants to submit applications to this initial selection. The applicant should provide all information by completing the selection forms and documents required based on which the selection shall be made.
  5. An applicant should demonstrate that their company has the technical and financial capacity as outlined in Section III Initial Criteria and Requirements of the Initial Selection Document (ISD)
  6. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information by emailing 112000.procurement@crownagents.co.uk during office hours, Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700 hours, Atlantic Standard Time. A complete set of Initial Selection documents in English shall be provided free of charge to those applicants who respond to this Notice.
  7. Applications for Initial Selection should be submitted in non-editable documents clearly marked as application to the following email address: 112000.procurement@crownagents.co.uk – on or before 17:00 (Standard Atlantic time), 8 March 2024. Late applications may be rejected.
