Ian Dalton /

Ian Dalton is currently Senior Health Adviser at the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He was previously Chief Executive of NHS Improvement, an organisation that brings together Monitor (the sector regulator for NHS Foundation Trusts in England) and the NHS Trust Development Authority and oversees Foundation Trusts and NHS Trusts across England, as well as independent providers that provide NHS-funded care. Prior to this, Ian was CEO of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust – one of the UK’s largest teaching hospital groups providing acute and specialist healthcare from Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea and the Western Eye hospitals.

Ian has also held the role of President for BT Global Services (Global Government and Health) and served as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive of NHS England.

He holds an MBA from the University of Durham, and an MA from the University of York.
