Fordson Kafweku /

Country Director, South Sudan

Fordson Kafweku is joining Crown Agents as Country Director, South Sudan. He has over 20 years of experience in humanitarian and development work derived from extensive work in Zambia, Malawi, South Sudan and Tanzania. He brings to Crown Agents experience working with various donors including ECHO, USAID, DFID, UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP and FAO.

Prior to joining Crown Agents, Fordson was Agency Director for Children International in Lusaka, Zambia. He also worked for 18 years with World Vision in Zambia and Malawi. In Malawi he was Deputy National Director and later acting National Director where he was instrumental in re-organizing the National Office. He also led one of the most successful humanitarian emergency responses for people affected by floods. Fordson also worked in Tanzania as Country Director for BRAC International, operating in 109 Districts of the 25 regions in Tanzania and Zanzibar, overseeing 1,800 staff members. In South Sudan, Fordson was Head of Programmes and Team Leader for Emergency Response for Plan International between 2016-2018.

Fordson holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University, USA; a Bachelor of Science in Tropical Agriculture from Larenstein International Agricultural College, Netherlands as well as a University Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Zambia/Natural Resources Development College. He is a certified Grants Manager for USAID Government grants and a Certified Project Manager for Development (PMDPro). He is also holds a post-graduate qualification in Development Studies obtained from University of South Africa.

Away from work, Fordson enjoys reading, listening to music and building relationships.
