Supply Chain Awards 2022: Crown Agents wins with Ukraine emergency and COVID-19 response /

“The greatest award is doing something you are proud of.” – Louis Sachar

Crown Agents is immensely proud of its global procurement team for winning two categories at the prestigious Supply Chain Excellence Awards last night at the London Hilton- the Public Procurement Supply Chain Excellence Award and the Public Sector Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Excellence Award.

Crown Agents’ global supply chain and Ukraine team, many of whom took three days to travel from Kyiv to London, were honoured for their life saving ongoing humanitarian response to the war in Ukraine.

Over the last 8 months they have sourced and shipped over 350,000 medicines, 97,000 trauma kits, 153,000 medical devices, 50,000 food kits, 36,000 hygiene kits, 400 oxygen concentrators, 192 generators and 91 premature baby incubators to hospitals and health workers across Ukraine working closely with the Ministry of Health. We know these goods have saved thousands of lives and the team have worked non-stop and in immensely challenging circumstances in Ukraine and across the region to respond to these critical needs.

Crown Agents thanks all its incredible partners, The Embassy of Ukraine, Ukraine Ministry of Health, the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), The Ministry of Defence, Pfizer, GSK, UBS, Citi Commercial Bank, AstraZeneca, Permira Foundation, Help Age International, Christian Aid, Jersey Overseas Aid, Save the Children, Russell Reynolds, Direct Relief and many individual foundations and generous philanthropists who made this work possible.

The company won a joint prize with UNICEF for our work on the global COVID-19 response ensuring vital technical assistance was given quickly to Ministries of Health across the world to enable them to store and transport vaccines using ultra cold chain technology at minus 80 degree centigrade. A huge thanks to COVAX and many donor governments for making this response possible to many of the hardest to reach communities across the world.

Good procurement save lives, is strong value for money, supports the fight against corruption and upholds the rule of law and democratic accountability. Every link in the chain is vital and we are honoured to have been recognized for making it happen.
