Supporting 797 health facilities across 8 states to deliver routine immunisations, this work contributed to over 124,000 children under the age of one being vaccinated in the first half of 2021. Of that number, 38% were vaccinated through mobile clinics with the support of local community health workers, known as Boma Health Workers(BHW). These BHWs serve rural communities by identifying defaulters then referring identified children to a medical vaccinator. Through this programme in South Sudan, medical logicians and health staff are also highly trained on vaccine management, cold-chain vaccine storage, vaccine handling, vaccine monitoring and stock management.09'
