b'The strong working relationship that we have established with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, through the RBF programme, has enabled us to support Zimbabwe to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. We now work with GAVI, The Vaccine Alliance, on a Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) initiative, Bernadette explains. This work is helping to increase coverage of and confidence in traditional vaccines and the COVID-19 vaccine. At the same time, it is addressing misinformation and building community trust in immunisations by involving pro-vaccine and pro-health religious leaders in community dialogue. My work is incredibly rewarding because Im involved in decision-making that directly leads to saving lives. I can still remember how elated I was to find out RBF funds were going to be used to buy medicines like Oxytocin to facilitate the delivery of womens placentas; this has helped to support healthy outcomes for both mothers and babies. My hope is that one day this programme can be used as an example of excellence which other African countries might be able to mirror, rolling out similar healthcare initiatives across the continent.Bernadette Sobuthana,Projects Development Manager, Crown Agents Zimbabwe17'
