The Project for the Construction of Medical Waste and Hazardous Waste Appropriate Processing Plant in Nairobi

The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received a grant from the Government of Japan to implement the project for Construction of Medical Waste and Hazardous Waste Appropriate Processing Plant in Nairobi.

The project involves consulting services, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant funded by this grant. Crown Agents, acting as an agent for and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kenya, now invites tenderers to bid to undertake the project.

Eligibility: Bidders must meet all of the following criteria.

  1. Bidders shall be Japanese nationals (Japanese physical persons or juridical persons controlled by Japanese physical persons).
  2. Bidders shall be Japanese companies incorporated and registered under Japan Law with their headquarters in Japan.
  3. The majority of bidders’ capital with voting rights shall be owned by Japanese nationals and majority of board members are Japanese physical persons.
  4. Bidders shall not fall under any of the items of Article 26, paragraph 1 of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act (Gaikokukawase-oyobi-Gaikokuboeki-Ho, Law No.228 of 1949, Japan).

Eligible bidders shall have sufficient experience in consultancy services including financial, technical, and legal services for similar projects in Japan and overseas.

Joint ventures shall be permitted where all members of the joint venture meet the eligibility criteria stated in the tender document.

Bidders shall not be debarred by the Government of Japan and/or by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from participating in bidding exercises.

It is a prerequisite for all companies wishing to participate in the bid invitations that they must register their interest by completing the supplier registration form from the ‘REGISTER’ button located at this page.
