An expert in stabilisation and security sector reform, James holds a BA in War Studies and an MA in International Conflict Analysis from the War Studies Department of King’s College London. James also comes from a military background, currently serving as an officer in the British Army’s 77th Brigade which specialises in information and outreach activities, where James focuses on civil affairs.
He has considerable experience working with governments in North Africa and the Middle East. He has worked in Libya supporting the setup of a national level dialogue structure to allow civil society engagement with the Constitutional Drafting Committee and currently directs a counter terrorism project in Iraq.
James spends most of his down time with his children and they often can be found playing board games. He also dedicates his time to designing war games as training aids and hopes to build tools to assist the training environment of those working in the stabilisation or humanitarian sphere.
