In2020, weve applied our procurement expertise for the first time to the question of how to maximise value for money in the roll out of minigrids, which offer huge potential as a way to reach the millions of people around the world who are currently without access to electricity.UK PACT: enabling faster clean growthCrown Agents supports middle income countries such as China, Colombia, Mexico, Malaysia and South Africa to meet their Nationally Determined Contributions and to reduce their carbon emissions through our role in the UK Governments Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions (PACT) programme. Together with our partner organisations, weve developed a roster of international experts who are called on to share their knowledge and experience with peers in PACT beneficiary countries. These technical partnerships are helping countries with high emissions reduction potential to overcome barriers in implementing their climate change ambitions, enabling faster transitions to low carbon growth. Our first wave of roster recruitment received three times our target number of applications and we have recruited and onboarded 208 experts from 56 organisations.
