b'A message from our Board ChairAs the new Chair of Crown Agents, it is a pleasure to join an organisation that prides itself on agility and responding to the needs of the most vulnerable people anywhere in the world. Our response to the Covid-19 pandemic has shown the organisation at its very best. This years impact statement details many examples Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe,where our procurement, inspections and supply chain capabilities have worked seamlessly to bring critical Personal Protective Equipment DBE, CMG (PPE), drugs and medical supplies to people around the world. We are deeply appreciative of our close working relationships with many national governments, institutional donors, corporates and foundations around the globe. In particular, we are looking forward to working closely with the newly created UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to use our expertise and global network to help deliver a shared vision of being a force for good around the world.A messagefrom our CEOFrom across the Caribbean to the British Overseas Territories, our teams have delivered over 625,000 kgs of masks, gloves and ventilators to ministries of health in 2020 as they sought to equiptheir staff to battle against the virus. We also adapted many of our longer-running programmes to respond to the pandemic. In South Sudan, we designed Covid-19 communication materials in over 20 local languages and distributed 19,000 copies Fergus Drake across health facilities supported through our Health Pooled Fund programme. In Nepal, we improved WASH facilities and installed child, gender and disability-friendly toilets at 92 schools as part of our Safer Schools Programme. In 2021 we will be leveraging all our technical skills and network across the globe to respond to the next major challenge - the delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine. This will involve significant cold chains, last-mile supply chain capabilities and equipping an army of community health educators to ensure the vaccine is delivered. We will be using logistics lessons learnt from the first phase and also our wider insights from successful health campaigns weve supported in relation to preventing and treating neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in many countries.Beyond the vaccine, we will be supporting countries to build back better. Crown Agents core ethos is to work closely with governments to strengthen their ability to respond effectively and efficiently to the evolving needs of their populations. We continue to show the scale and complexity of this endeavour through our procurement work in Ukraine, our Results-Based Financing Programme across over 849 primary healthcare units in Zimbabwe and by improving the capability of public administration bodies in Lebanon. This year we have also developed a strong online platform to deliver our Training and Professional Development curriculum in new and innovative ways.2020 has been an unprecedented year of challenge and adversity across the globe. I am immensely proud to lead an organisation that is playing such a significant role in both the immediate and longer-term solutions to these challenges.01'
