Crown Agents and the Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade hosted a conference on current public procurement developments in Ukraine and the European Union this month, sponsored by The Crown Agents Foundation.
The conference, which took place on the 7th October in Kyiv, Ukraine, was attended by over a hundred participants including representatives of Ukraine government agencies and international bodies such as the EBRD, EC, USAID and Transparency International. Further information support was provided by the public procurement bulletin of Ukraine.
The event focused on national public procurement-related issues and new international trends, whilst highlighting the benefits of countries sharing experiences in ensuring transparency and integrity of public expenditure management.
The importance and timely character of this event was highly appreciated by the participants. Ms Natalia Drozdova of the Nikolaev Oblast Chamber of Commerce commented, "This Conference is very well-timed in the light of ongoing development of the procurement legislation and recent new amendments to the Public Procurement Law".
With government and non-government organisations taking enormous interest in the event, the conference was also broadcasted on the internet with over 1,200 registered visitors during the online transmission.
