A real sense of anticipation filled Crown Agents International Training Centre on the morning of 12th May, as delegates and staff awaited the arrival of HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO to officially open our training centre.
During the visit The Duke met with a number of Crown Agents staff including Chairman, Paul Batchelor, and Chief Executive, Keith White. His Royal Highness also met over 60 of the delegates attending our three programmes running that week: Successful Training Strategies: Tools & Techniques, Introduction to CS-DRMS and Inspirational Leadership & Teambuilding. The Duke was also taken on a guided tour of the training centre's facilities by Keith and Maria Older, Head of Programme Delivery.
With all the introductions complete,
the formal opening of the centre took place. In a speech made by Keith White he thanked The Duke and said of training "It is a journey we take together: in clients' countries and regions, in client organisations and now, in this training centre". The Duke declared the centre open and unveiled our commemorative plaque.
Once the formalities were complete, we were delighted that The Duke spent some time meeting more of the delegates and guests before departing for another engagement.
