Monitoring and evaluation

Under any performance based funding mechanism it is essential for the programme's outcome and impact to be reported accurately and in a timely manner. Crown Agents is experienced in establishing clear monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks within the operational plans of projects and programmes, developing performance criteria and reporting mechanisms for all stakeholders. When we are defining project indicators we ensure that we achieve added value.

In our role as the Global Fund's Local Fund Agent for several countries, we have undertaken reviews of the M&E functions and onsite data verification exercises to assess both the data quality and the reporting systems in place. This has involved M&E for HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria with recommendations being provided to strengthen the quality of data and the reporting system.

Crown Agents also has strong experience in making objective assessments of aid interventions, to enable the government and the international community to better understand the factors behind success or failure. We design performance criteria that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders and are experienced in building capacity to enhance the performance of the M&E function particularly through training.

M&E modules are included in several of the specially designed courses conducted at our training centre in Sutton such as for example the Crown Agents Certificate in Procurement for Senior Executives. We have also run tailored courses for clients such as the Commonwealth Secretariat Monitoring & Evaluation course for Southern & Eastern Africa.
