Free Sight Tests
In order to comply with UK Health and Safety Legislation, Crown Agents reimburses the cost of eye tests to employees who use VDUs (Visual Display Units eg PCs) for a significant part of their work.
Crown Agents has a nominated optician in Sutton, Second Sight, who invoice us direct when staff have their eyes tested. However employees can opt to see an optician of their choice and then claim reimbursement via the petty cash system, with HR approval.
Crown Agents only contributes towards the cost of lenses or frames for glasses that are solely for VDU use, i.e. they are not for reading or long distance use as well.
Give As You Earn
A tax efficient way to make regular charitable contributions to a chosen UK charity via monthly payroll. Doing it this way saves Tax and NI on the donation which can be kept or added to the charitable donation.
Group personal pension & company matching
A fantastic scheme made more effective by availability of a salary sacrifice option which enables employees to really maximise tax and NI savings on contributions. The company will pay 5% of salary and match contributions like for like up to 10% of salary. Employees are auto-enrolled on or before third month of employment. Opt out is available.

Private medical insurance (grade 8 and above)
Current benefit provider is WPA. This is a taxable benefit – so you pay tax on the value the business pays for providing this benefit to you.
