History

Crown Agents' fund management services can be traced back to the early 20th century and evolved in response to the emerging client requirements to make a better return on the funds they held with Crown Agents.HistoryThe services developed with the times particularly as our clients became independent states and needed to invest funds in convertible currencies to back their domestic currencies. Our client base expanded not only in terms of number and size of funds but also to include customers from outside the public sector. With the growing sophistication of our clients' needs, we have evolved to meet their evermore technical and challenging requirements.

The investment department of Crown Agents became a separate, wholly-owned subsidiary of Crown Agents in the late 1980's to facilitate registration with the newly formed regulatory authorities in the UK at that time. The current name Crown Agents Investment Management (CAIM) was adopted in 2005.

Crown Agents continues to offer clients an integrated suite of financial services to meet today's investment and banking requirements. Since the 1990's we have been helping clients develop their own capabilities in managing reserves and pension funds through training courses, mentoring and workshops on aspects of investment and risk management. This unique training and capacity building role distinguishes Crown Agents amongst international fund managers.
