Crown Agents Zimbabwe has procured almost 1000 text books worth in excess of US$60,000 on behalf of the Department for International Development (DFID) for the country's Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General.
The external audit arm of the Zimbabwean government, responsible for auditing all government ministries and parastatals, expressed its gratitude for receiving the 31 referral and learning titles in the face of changing international audit standards.
The Comptroller and Auditor General, Mrs M. Chiri, said she was confident that the text books would go a long way in building capacity of the personnel in her office to enable them to serve the public more efficiently and effectively.
Attending the text book handover ceremony on 28th July 2011 were DFID's head of mission in Zimbabwe, Dave Fish; senior economist Pietro Toigo and finance manager Oliver Magwaza.
Crown Agents was represented by Zimbabwe country manager Thomas Wushe; public financial management business winner Tafadzwa Bandama and procurement executive, Langton Pfaira.
