Crown Agents received a warm response to the launch of its training hub in India during a reception held at the India Habitat Centre on 8 September 2011.
Crown Agents India hosted the reception, joined by Director of Training, Sarah Potter; Head of Programme Delivery, Maria Older and Regional Director Asia, Mike Byfield. The event was well attended by more than 40 guests from government departments, international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), donors, public sector enterprises and development agencies.
For many years, Crown Agents has been offering customised training courses in India. More than 1,200 delegates have been trained on topics such as VAT implementation and audit; public procurement; health supply chain management; drug management and public health sector issues.
The positive response from delegates on the local courses and strong interest from key clients led to the launch of the India training hub. This training hub will offer open training courses that will cater to the needs of the public sector, NGOs and development-focused projects in India and neighbouring South Asian countries.
During the visit, Sarah Potter, Maria Older and Mike Byfield held separate meetings with various clients and partners located in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi. Discussions were held on how Crown Agents can share its international expertise and knowledge with people in India.
The training team is working closely with the local office to plan activities in India. The 2012 training calendar focuses on people and organisational development; programme and project management; and procurement and health supply chain management.
Crown Agents will continue to work with clients to develop customised training courses and offer mentoring and coaching solutions to meet specific training needs.
