Crown Agents led a lively discussion on procurement and supply chain management in the health sector at the 35th Medic Africa conference and exhibition in Nigeria last month.
The interactive master class, which attracted in excess of 70 delegates, focused on the importance of specifications to successful health programmes and the challenges and successful approaches needed for ensuring quality assurance of health products.
Hundreds of delegates also visited Crown Agents' exhibition stand at the three day-long event, which took place in Lagos, Nigeria, from 18-20 October 2011, to find out more about our work in the health sector.
Crown Agents' director of supply chain services, Bryan Richmond, said that Medic Africa was the best event he had attended in many years:
"More than 200 visitors including health care professionals came to our stand each day to discuss how we can assist them in improving health systems across Africa. Crown Agents Nigeria Ltd (CANL) staff worked the floors tirelessly and with great energy. There was a massive interest in our training and we distributed over 500 brochures and calendars.
"We had to turn delegates away from the supply chain master class due to excess numbers, which covered all aspects of specifications and quality control. There was significant interaction and considerable interest in Crown Agents' capacity building services."
Medic Africa was launched in 1987 and now hosts events from Addis to Zimbabwe for health professionals and suppliers to network, exhibit medical products and discuss the latest issues in health care delivery.
