Crown Agents contributes to the World Bank Doing Business survey

18 March 2011

Crown Agents has been contributing to the World Bank Doing Business survey for two years now. Launched in 2002, the Doing Business Project is an initiative of the World Bank and International Finance Corporation which provides objective measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 183 economies and selected cities at the sub-national and regional level.

Following a meeting between Crown Agents and the Doing Business team in Washington last year we have contributed to the Paying Taxes indicator for eight countries - Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Zimbabwe. Doing Business team has appreciated our efforts and we were named as contributors on their website and in the Doing Business 2011 report. As an organisation with strong Public Financial Management reform expertise and experience, we appreciate the clear link between economic growth through facilitating investment.

This year we have been requested to contribute again to the Doing Business 2012 survey and have already submitted the completed questionnaires for the same countries mentioned above. Later this month, Mike Canvin, Director Tax, will meet the Doing Business team to strengthen our relationship when he is due to visit our Washington office.
