VIPS©, Crown Agents' VAT Information Processing System, was implemented to provide an integrated solution to the data processing needs posed by the introduction of VAT. The system was installed at designated regional offices.
Implementation of VIPS© involved:
- System Design: production of system specifications and preparation of an implementation and testing plan;
- System Installation: site preparation, hardware installation and system testing;
- Training: needs analysis, management workshops and user training in audit techniques, bookkeeping, VAT regulations and computer awareness.
