Training in EU procurement in South East Europe

Crown Agents organised regional public procurement training in Ohrid, Macedonia, in June 2006 to update public sector procurement agents on new EU procurement directives.

Thirty-four procurement officers from Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated, gaining a deeper understanding of the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.

As well as covering the essentials of public procurement, the course also provided a tool-kit for implementing EU procurement procedures into individual state's public procurement systems.

The course will be repeated at the same venue in May 2007.
