Between 2009 and 2010 Crown Agents Tokyo, with support from Crown Agents UK, implemented development projects throughout the world for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) worth Yen 675 billion.
Crown Agents provided procurement advisory services to yen loan projects across the world and delivered seminars to local JICA offices covering the procurement of goods, works and services.
Recipient countries included Iraq (carried out in Amman), Bosnia, Brazil, Romania, Kenya, Zambia, India and Bangladesh.
The programme focused initially on building the capacity of selected implementing agencies to procure on consulting services in support of major projects and later included training in procurement.
Our carefully selected six-strong team of procurement specialists delivered structured interactive workshops on key elements of the procurement process from the development of requests for proposals and terms of reference to tender evaluation, contract negotiations and management.
Working collaboratively with JICA headquarters and country office staff, our specialists undertook risk assessments following the provision of support services to highlight any potential problem areas for JICA staff to monitor in the future.
