IMC | 2004 - 2007

As part of UK Department for International Development (DFID) assistance programme to Kyrgyzstan, the government of Kyrgyzstan received $20 million credit allocated by the World Bank to meet audit, budget formulation and internal control requirements.

Crown Agents audited improvements in state budgeting and accounting, building capacity in the revenue forecasting department in the Ministry of Economics and the Finance and assisting in the general reform of revenue administration.

DFID's support was intended to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry and the Chamber of Accounts to establish a more strategic, transparent and comprehensive budgetary process and to increase the demand for good governance from the population. Other significant outputs include building revenue forecasting capacity within Kyrgyzstan and improving revenue administration and revenue generation thus adding to the national wealth of the country.
