Managing the Government of Japan development funds

The Kyrgyzstan has received six tranches of Japanese Non Project Grant Aid (JNPGA), with a total value of JPY4.1 billion. The most recent programme was executed in December 2002 (Year 16). Crown Agents has managed all JNPGA programmes in Kyrgyzstan providing procurement and programme management services since 1995.

Goods purchased using JNPGA funds included various agricultural equipment, diesel and aviation fuel, domestic gas meters and trolleybuses. The JNPGA programme helped a lot to resolve public transportation problems in the Kyrgyz capital and made a significant and welcome contribution to the upgrading of the city's transport system. The funds were allocated to public sector and the Ministry of Agriculture was the largest client throughout the years of implementation of JNPGA programme in Kyrgyzstan.
