The USAID | DELIVER PROJECT, a follow on to the DELIVER project, is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by John Snow, Inc. (JSI) with a number of partners including Crown Agents USA, Inc. (CA-USA). The project improves the availability of essential medicines and other health commodities through strengthening local supply chains, improving logistics management information systems, streamlining distribution systems, identifying financial resources for procurement and supply chain operation, enhancing forecasting and procurement planning, strengthening national and international policies and coordination related to commodity procurement and distribution, and providing centralized procurement services.
CA-USA is a sub-contractor to JSI on three Task Orders under the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT. We are providing supply chain expertise to the JSI management team for the next five years as part of its Task Order 3 for malaria intervention under the President's Malaria Initiative. Paul Stannard, on secondment to JSI, has over four year's malaria-related supply chain experience. As Crown Agents' country manager in Tanzania he managed our malaria interventions, including bed nets delivery.
Task Order 3 of the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT ensures in-country supply systems have the capacity to effectively manage and distribute commodities for malaria prevention and treatment programs. It also addresses the availability and supply of malaria commodities at global level, and for the long term. It will be working in Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
