Improved budgeting and fiscal control in Bangladesh
Financial Management Reform Programme
Department for International Development | 2004 - 2007
The Financial Management Reform Programme is designed to improve fiscal control throughout Bangladesh in line with the Department of International Development's Good Governance initiatives by the introduction of an IT solution linking all of the Government of Bangladesh financial institutions. Crown Agents were responsible for all aspects of the supply chain supplying IT equipment with a value in excess of ₤1.5 million. In addition Crown Agents installed Local Area Networks in some 100 locations throughout the country overlaid by a country-wide Wide Area Network against an extremely tight project timeframe. At the end of the project the Government of Bangladesh will have an automated system throughout the country for budget preparation and subsequent monitoring in real time to aid their overall development and fiscal policy aspirations and aid their fight against corruption.
