The Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria in Uganda is a programme of health sector support, designed to combat the three major diseases of AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The Global Fund itself is a financing instrument, providing funding to a Principal Recipient, who in turns makes grant allocations to Sub-Recipients (for example, locally based NGOs, Faith-Based Organisations, Community Groups, etc).
Crown Agents Uganda was appointed to provide health, technical and procurement advice and services to the Principal Recipient, the Ministry of Finance. We procured goods internationally, regionally and in-country from laboratory equipment, to insecticide treated bed-nets to anti-retroviral drugs. We purchased and arranged value for money contracts with the suppliers, on behalf of the Ugandan government.
