Crown Agents support to Latvia Customs

Crown Agents supported the modernisation and automation of Latvia's customs providing customs experts from their own panel of consultants, and the Customs Administrations of the UK, Denmark and Sweden to implement the following components:

• Flexible Anti-Smuggling Teams (FASTs) - these mobile task force units target border crossings, ports and airports, commercial vehicles in transit, warehouse removals and marshalling yards
• Investigation Officers to lead post-import audits and special import verification teams
• Provision of vehicles, computer equipment, radio handsets, rummage/examination equipment
• Implementation of TIMS©, Crown Agents' Trade Information Management System, for the improvement of valuation and risk management
