New trends in Public Procurement

Crown Agents together with the Department of Public services and the Department of Competition Policy of Moscow City Government, the Adenauer Foundation (Germany) and the State University of Belarus helped Moscow City Government organise an international conference on 'Problems and Trends of the Public Procurement System'. This was held on 26th/27th November at Moscow City Government Management University.Video conference presentation - Chris Harvey Crown Agents Moscow was one of the main organisers and played a very active part in the conference.

The objective of the event was to discuss the effectiveness and efficiency of public procurement which covered the legal, HR, methodological and IT development of the Public Procurement system. The topics covered in the conference were mostly determined by the ongoing development of Public Procurement systems focusing on e-procurement, increased competition, support to small and medium sized enterprises and anticorruption in public procurement.

On the first day of the conference Crown Agents' Russian Country Manager, Larissa Kokareva, gave a presentation on our international experience of training public procurement specialists. On the second day of the conference, via a video conference between UK, Russia and Belarus, there was a presentation made on the UK experience of e-procurement. This presentation generated a lot of interest and questions from the attendees.
