As well as supporting governments in large countries such as Angola, India, Russia and Mozambique to design and implement large scale customs, tax and revenue authority reform programmes, Crown Agents also takes pride in our ability to support small island states to address the unique challenges they face.
In addition to delivering services to clients close to home such as Jersey and the Isle of Man, we have also developed a presence in the Caribbean, where we have supported governments to introduce modern systems and processes in line with international best practice. Some of our recent projects include:
- Review of business processes and procedures and the introduction of the Crown Agents TRIPS™ IT solution in St Kitts & Nevis;
- Implementation of an integrated IT System for Fiscal and Financial Reform in Guyana;
- Creation of a new organisational structure which was presented to the Customs & Excise Department of Barbados as part of an IDB funded project aimed at improving the capacity of Customs;
- Proposing new training, planning and internal control systems in Barbados, also funded by the IDB;
- Implementation of an automated customs declaration and processing system underway in Cayman Islands;
- Conducting Value for Money reviews in the Bahamas;
- Review of policies and procedures, the legal framework and HR processes in Suriname.
