Rawle Eastmond, Minister of Labour and Civil Service, opened our bespoke 'Procurement of Civil Works' training course designed especially for the Barbados Government Training Administration Division (TAD). He gave a speech on the importance of procurement in good fiscal management, and also took the opportunity to launch TAD's new website.
Trainers Antonia Hynd and Robert Hardwick used a range of training techniques including real-life Caribbean case studies such as the World Bank's Social Impact Amelioration Programme in Guyana and a Caribbean Development Bank-funded road project in St Kitts.
Twenty personnel with spend responsibility from various ministries and departments attended the course and evaluated it highly, saying:

"A very well designed course which incorporates both local and cultural experiences".
"All persons directly or indirectly involved in government's civil works and procurement process should be exposed to this course".
One delegate, in a closing speech of thanks, described Crown Agents as "a lighthouse in the fog of procurement".
