Crown Agents Training Centre will help reduce waterborne diseases, such as Typhoid, in Zimbabwe by sponsoring construction of an elephant pump. It will provide clean water to local villagers.
Because we buy water for our training delegates from Aquaid, who donate 40 pence per bottle to Christian Aid and Pump Aid, we have sponsored the construction of an elephant pump in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. These pumps are much easier to use than traditional pumps.
On receiving a certificate from Aquaid, Steve Summers, Crown Agents' head of training said "Crown Agents is itself dedicated to improving the lives of everyone in our client countries through our work in international development. So we are especially proud to be receiving this certificate in recognition of our part in saving lives in Zimbabwe. We take our Corporate Social Responsibility policy very seriously and are pleased that as many as 500 people can restart their lives gives us great satisfaction"
The Pump Aid Charity Aid tackles poverty by working with local communities to establish sustainable supplies of clean water for improved health and increased agricultural production.
