A team from Crown Agents' specialist logistics company, Greenshields Cowie, has been working in Sudan over the last 2 years to handle the delivery by air charter of nearly a thousand vehicles for the African Mission in Sudan (AMIS) - the front end of the African Union's peacekeeping operation in Darfur.
The photo shows members of the team - Sue Dobson, Roger Peacock, and graduate trainee, Sian Rogers, with the crystal plaque awarded to them recently in Khartoum by local air charter agents, Dahla. The presentation was made by two of the directors of the company, Mr Rasheed Gaafar Balal and Mr Fadil Omer Tom, in the presence of several VIPs including the head of Civil Aviation in Sudan. The inscription on the plaque reads "Your invaluable efforts to sustain peace in Sudan will never be forgotten".
