We have delivered procurement and training services in Kyrgyzstan and the neighbouring Central Asian region since setting up our local office in Bishkek in the early 1990s. We have worked on a number of programmes aimed at achieving economic rehabilitation, social safety, institutional strengthening and revenue enhancement.
Since winning a Global Fund project to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in 2009, Crown Agents has become the local fund agent in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan providing oversight services in financial and supply management, procurement and health programmes.
Our procurement assistance has extended to the environment, energy, telecommunications, health, agriculture, transport, mining and metallurgy sectors. A Japanese-funded project saw us supply trolley-buses to Bishkek, helping to resolve public transportation problems in the Kyrgyz capital.
We have set up a regional banking training centre to improve public financial management systems, developed disaster mitigation plans and helped to develop the human resources function by partnering with public institutions.
