VIPS© (Value Added Tax Information Processing System)
VIPS© is a proprietary system developed by Crown Agents in order to support all of the operations needed to be performed by a tax authority in order to manage and collect VAT. Tasks supported by the VIPS© system include registration and deregistration, returns issue and processing, payments, non-filers, debt management, interest, penalties, audit selection and audit visit outcome management. VIPS© has been available for over 10 years in three major releases.
TIMS© (Trade Information Management System)
TIMS© is a proprietary system developed by Crown Agents in order to support all aspects of the commercial processing of goods by customs. Major TIMS© modules include manifest entry (both manual and electronic), customs declaration entry using the SAD (Single Administrative Document) model (again both manual and electronic), workflows for definitive importation, inward processing relief, export, outward processing relief, transit, transhipment, warehousing, freezones and passenger handling. All of these workflows include duty, tax and payment calculations in accordance with national tariff, payment receipting and handling, intelligence led risk management, goods examination, valuation and classification, duty uplifts goods release, seizures and offences. TIMS© systems are in operation worldwide by customs authorities.
