Crown Agents has worked in Ghana for over a century and opened its first permanent representative office in 1983. In 2000 we set up a subsidiary company, Crown Agents Ghana Limited, to bring our global resources together with local partners to support the government's strategy of strengthening public financial management.

Millions of US dollars have been saved in Ghana due to the Value for Money audit programme undertaken by Crown Agents over the past 10 years. Funded for the first three years by DFID and since 2003 by MOFEP, the VFM audits have also improved technical specifications, performance criteria and contract terms.

From 2009-2010 we implemented a detailed procurement training programme across the public and private sectors on behalf of the Millennium Development Authortity (MiDA) in collaboration with the Public Procurement Agency (PPA) and the government of Ghana.

In partnership with the government of Ghana, Crown Agents has transformed the country's tax system over the last 12 years through the establishment of a Large Taxpayer Unit to administer direct and indirect taxes to large tax payers and the implementation of our trips integrated revenue system for more effective revenue collection in 2006.

Elsewhere, in 2008 Crown Agents was appointed alongside the Ghana Supply Company Ltd for a second five year programme to provide procurement agency services to the Ministry of Health, under the Ghana Health Sector Improvement Programme.
