Since the early 1990s Crown Agents in Tbilisi has been helping to implement donor-funded development projects, specialising in procurement and technical assistance support to public financial management and infrastructure rehabilitation.
We helped strengthen the government's capacity to formulate economic policy, manage its public sector investment, and mobilise, coordinate and manage aid resources. We have also improved its revenue performance by strengthening its revenue authorities and instituting a programme to combat customs fraud. A number of representatives from government and private sectors have also attended our training courses.
Since 1997 we have been helping to disburse Japanese grant aid funds. The goods and services we procure benefit small and medium-sized companies, and public operations in the agriculture, transport and water supply sectors.
We recently won a Global Fund Project and became Local Fund Agent in Georgia, which will provide a range of oversight services to the Global Fund.
