Our principal focus since first working in Ethiopia in 1992 has been providing procurement, project management and training services to wide-ranging clients including the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, managing a Japanese Non-Project Grant Aid programme, and Ministry of Health, managing a USAID Health Centre Renovation Project.
As part of the $4.28m USAID-funded Ethiopia Health Centre Renovation and Coordination project between 2006 and 2009, Crown Agents USA renovated 47 health centres and carried out engineering assessments of 100 medical facilities throughout Ethiopia.
We have assisted the Institute of Tax and Customs Administration (ITCA) to upgrade the capacity of civil servants in tax and customs administration through training of staff from the Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA), research and consultancy since 2009.
To improve sustainable access opportunities for rural communities we are supporting the Africa Community Access Programme (AFCAP) and in 2006 we set up a commercial representative office in Addis Ababa (registered with the Ministry of Trade and Industry) to offer supply chain services, public financial management and international banking.
DKT Ethiopia also appointed Crown Agents Singapore as part of its National HIV/AIDS prevention programme to procure 25 million condoms in 2004 and a further 25 million Sensation condoms in 2005.
