Crown Agents' long-term relationship with Caribbean countries and regional organisations gives us a unique understanding of the challenges the region faces from natural disasters and economic problems to high rates of HIV/AIDS and drug-related crime.
The expertise and solutions we deliver in the Caribbean are varied and extensive. Some examples of our work include:
- Delivering IT solutions in the Caribbean over the last 15 years. For example, Crown Agents has delivered customs and tax IT systems in Bahamas, St Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica and Guyana, including the introduction of trips™ - Crown Agents' unique solution suite for customs, tax and integrated revenue authorities;
- Conducting a series of value-for-money audits of various Government ministries in the Bahamas
- Conducting a feasibility study for the introduction of a single-rate Value Added Tax, also in the Bahamas;
- Developing operational procedures, training and planning systems for the Department of Customs and Excise in Barbados;
- Facilitating a high-level forum that brought together Financial Secretaries with international finance experts to address the high levels of borrowing in the region;
- Responding to the earthquake and subsequent humanitarian crisis in Haiti by providing our procurement services to help facilitate the distribution of an emergency Japanese aid fund.
