Crown Agents has assisted the Afghanistan government since 2002 with procurement advice, project management services and training programmes, through World Bank, UK Department for International Development, and other British government-funded projects.
Afghanistan qualified for the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative in 2007 and since 2009 Crown Agents has provided consultancy services to the Ministry of Finance to install a debt management system.
The project has focused on consolidating all debt records into one database using the Commonwealth Secretariat's Debt Recording Management system (CS-DRMS) as well as training staff to use the system.
We are also providing procurement, administrative support and logistics to British counter-narcotics programmes.
From 2004-2007 we provided third party inspection to United Nations programmes relating to child health, drinking water and sanitation and anti-polio campaigns for products including hand-pumps and pharmaceuticals.
